It was a good start for the first European X Yachts Cup, which is being held in Lavagna, Italy.
Despite all worries, in the first hours of the afternoon a good breeze has allowed all the boats competing to finish the 8 miles race in less than two and a half hours.
It was a very competitive race, especially, for the first part of the fleet: The overall victory went to Lady X Lady Tamoil  (the new X 362 Sport) with Flavio Favini at the helm, which only overcame the X 332 Malandrino Kempro by 13 seconds in corrected time.
The third boat on the finishing line was Adalaga 5 Master Wheel followed by another  21 boats. The first non-Italian boat was the Irish IMX 38 Xerxes skippered by Dan O'Neill.
